TRADE SHOWS AND CONVENTIONS ARE BACK IN PLAY now that vaccinations are available across the country. As spring gives way to summer, mask restrictions will ease and more of us will be able to travel and congregate for the first time in well over a year.

I have heard from many of the readers of Technology Designer Magazine who are excited to be making plans to join us in Indianapolis this September as CEDIA Expo 2021 gears up for what is expected to be not only a well-attended trade show, but also the key 2021 venue for manufacturers who are eager to share the latest innovations in residential and light commercial technology.

It goes without saying that we will be taking everyone’s health and wellbeing into consideration across the width and breadth of the show. From the trade show floor to meeting spaces to networking events, we are working with health professionals to ensure a safe event for all attendees.

We are making plans to build upon our efforts from CEDIA Expo 2019 and CE¬DIA Expo Virtual 2020 for this year’s CE¬DIA Expo 2021 where we’ve increased our focus on building connections between smart home technology brands, residential technology integrators, architects, designers and builders through programming and interactive platforms that intentionally bring all audiences together in one location.

One example is the strategy behind our Design + Connection program that will include guided booth tours – an integral part of this initiative – that will take place on the show floor Thursday, September 2. We’ll also have a wide range of panel discussions on the Smart Stage, and a special networking event to help foster relationships and conversations between technology and design professionals.

And then there is the excitement every¬one will experience as manufacturers open their booths and showcase new technology advances ranging from net-zero power management, window treatments, lighting fixtures and the amazing whole-home control systems that let the technology reside behind the walls as the magic happens throughout the house. Expo is the showcase venue for the latest in residential performance home technologies and the place to be for design-build professionals looking to keep up with the latest smart home trends.

So we’re excited to invite everyone back to the show, live and in-person, this September 1-3 in Indianapolis. Let me say again that there is a pent-up demand for the residential technology systems integration industry and our colleagues in the design-build community to gather, to see new products from 300+ brands, learn about industry trends and solutions, and just to have the pleasure of networking again! Registration opens June 9th. Please visit cediaexpo for more information. We hope you will join us.
