The Lighting Design Experience — A New Revenue Engine for Custom Integrators Seeking to Grow Lighting Sales.

Light Can Help You, one of the nation’s leading residential lighting design firms, today announced the launch of LDX (The Lighting Design Experience) — a comprehensive, year-long training pathway designed to help custom integrators build profitable, scalable lighting design and project management capabilities.

Unlike traditional lighting training, LDX blends best-in-class education with an apprenticeship-inspired support environment, giving integrators and their teams the real-world skills and backup they need to confidently design, deploy, and deliver elevated lighting solutions.

LDX is intentionally built as a combined dual-focus program:

  • DESIGN — for aspiring or developing lighting designers
  • DEPLOY — for project managers and field leaders responsible for implementation

By bridging both sides of the process, LDX ensures teams can preserve design intent, spot problems early, and deliver higher-value lighting outcomes for clients.

“Integrators are leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table because their teams simply do not have the support they need to succeed,” said David Warfel, Founding Designer at Light Can Help You. “LDX gives them a proven pathway to grow lighting revenue fast — and to build designer and project manager skill sets that pay for themselves almost immediately.”

A Skills Gap the Industry Can No Longer Ignore
Most integrators struggle to hire lighting designers, and traditional education formats rarely prepare students for real projects. Meanwhile, project managers often lack the design fluency needed to protect design intent in the field.

LDX solves both problems by offering three integrated components:

1. One-Week In-Person Residency (Golden, Colorado)
Held at the ProSource 1010 Experience Center, featuring in-depth design layout sessions, hands-on fixture labs, real-world demo spaces, and guided exercises in aiming, layout, and scene setting.

2. Digital Resource Package
Room-by-room design guides, intake forms, implementation checklists, fixture labeling tools, and an advanced Bluebeam toolbox — based on the same systems used inside Light Can Help You and expanded for LDX.

3. The LDX Collective (12 Months)
A year-long, apprenticeship-inspired environment giving attendees access to working professionals, peer review calls, topical chat channels, live manufacturer events, and AI-powered support, all within a single platform across computers, tablets, and smart phones.

“Education alone isn’t enough — people need consistent support from working professionals,” said Jessica Doyle, Education Leader at Light Can Help You. “LDX gives designers and project managers a shared language, shared tools, and shared community. It’s the first program that truly mirrors how lighting designers learn in the real world.”

A Revenue Multiplier for Integrators
Because LDX teaches both design and deployment, teams can begin generating revenue almost immediately:

  • 150 billed design hours covers the full cost of tuition
  • 1,500 sq. ft. of fixture specification recoups the investment
  • Integrators can see $300,000+ lighting revenue potential in year one

“Our goal is simple,” said Warfel. “We want integrators, reps, and aspiring designers to walk away with the skills and confidence to sell more fixtures, deliver better lighting, and capture the revenue that’s already sitting in front of them.”
