Publishers’ Letter – Winter 2020

Continuing to make a difference in the design-build community.

 

WE HAD AN INCREDIBLE 2019 as we launched the Technology Designer brand, and we have much more in store as we begin year two. From the magazine to the website to our exciting monthly newsletter, we have more to offer you as we dive deeper into the technologies and designs of the future.

This summer we will begin our podcast series where we will interview leaders in the design-build community. This format allows us to go a little deeper in discovering how technology is impacting design. And, we want to hear from others on how they fathom technology and what technologies we should be digging deeper in to, so the community understands and appreciates how the modern performance home communicates, analyzes and reports on its own health and maintenance.

We continue to cover technologies across the width and breadth of today’s luxury residences, from kitchen and bath, to air and water delivery, sustainable building materials, resilient design, landscaping, lighting, and traditional audio, video and whole house control platforms. Everything and everyone is talking to each other in these smart homes, and we’re here to capture the conversation.

And we’re having fun educating and entertaining. You will notice that as we begin our second year, the magazine articles are becoming more varied and we’re inviting more voices to the conversation. The TD e-Newsletter is brimming with interesting articles similar to our magazine, but in shorter formats and quicker reads. And our podcast series will be of a much more personal nature, capturing inspiration and thought processes that define forward-thinking leaders.
As the technology specialists, we understand how to bring the various technical aspects of today’s cutting-edge products together in order to give the homeowner an intuitive lifestyle experience. And how design-build teams can communicate and understand the role that technology plays in our lives.

Thank you all for your support. We understand that as the leaders in technology outreach we play an important role in bringing awareness to where technology impacts design. We continue down that road with a clear vision of where we intend to take Technology Designer this year and in the coming decade.
